On my VW and some Mercedes the inner fender liner is fabricated of a felt like fabric material and it is RELUCTANT to requite up on the dirt and junk it holds. I finally got to launder my Rabbit yesterday at the money op with Bucket Gratis Car Wash and I blasted the bicycle wells as well as I could but they are nevertheless white with salt. When I got home I tried to scrub it a bit but everything started to freeze then I quit, information technology didn`t look like it got much out anyhow.
I`yard thinking I might take to fabric dye them in the bound?
Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Your wheel wells are fabricated of fabric? That`s weird... I`m not certain how I would deal with that..

Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Some of the new Lexus have the fabric in the bike wells as well. I would be interested in a solution to this problem too.

Yeah, I`ve heard it is to help soundproof the cabin from road noise. I haven`t dealt with one yet simply I`thou guessing you should treat it like the carpet on the inside merely use some more ambitious ratios. The key to keeping those wheel wells clean is regular maintanance because otherwise they are going to be soiled so desperately that replacing the rug in the wheelwell becomes a better selection.

Hm.. If there`s carpet in the wheelwell, wouldn`t it deteriorate hands from all the dirt, mud, dust that accumulates there? Why would manufacturers blueprint carpet wheelwells?

To cut/diffuse high pitch bear on noises like stones, etc.
A strong foamy cleaner plus a hot water pressure washer should practise the trick. Yous can steam it as well.

On my g/f`s Rabbit I try to just blast them with the hose as proficient as possible when I wash information technology. Like others said yous tin can care for information technology like interior rug. Make clean them good and apply a protectant like Scotch Guard or 303 Cloth protectant. That`s my plan when the jump rolls around.
Audis accept them as well, front and rear. At least the Rabbit only has them in the rear.

This is a material adult past Mercedez and sold to a couple of dissimilar manufacturures. Information technology is not actually fabric, just a textile that is used for two reasons. First is for audio dampening. The second is, that information technology does not evidence dirt much at all. To clean it, they recommend using a solid cloth or sponge, and regular soap. It comes clean adequately easily on our mercedez.

At to the lowest degree the fronts are but regular plastic though, keeping the wells make clean and dressed helps it to wait a little lower, at least until I get some coil overs on it, so I won`t have to worry because you won`t see them! Anyone demand some sport springs?
Thanks!

Information technology does help quiet the road dissonance though.

The New BMW`s I have washed latley all have the textile wells. Information technology is a real pain to get make clean. The best I have tried is to spray with APC and scrub with a inexpensive MF towel once or twice. I have not found a dressing that really does anything to make them expect better though.

The Mazda 6 too has this "fabric" in the rear wheel wells. I couldn`t believe it the offset time I detailed a 6. Weird, but I can see how it would exist constructive.

The fabric is not fabric at all, it`due south felt. And information technology was non adult by Mercedes, it was adult past an Italian cloth company. Information technology is actually a three ply material consisting of layers of felt, extruded plastic, and again felt.

I`one thousand merely starting another BMW detail (545i) and it has that material. I ability washed the fender wells and applied Adams Nether Wagon spray. I just started using this product and it is very nice. I`ll post pics of the 545i Before/Later this night.
Here`south a before & after on a black X5 that I did the other twenty-four hour period. Actually dries neutral (not super dull nor super glossy). The wells seems to just disappear and give an OEM terminate which is my goal since the Bimmers are all for re-sale.
Before:
After Adams Nether Carriage
I tested a cycle well on the 545i last dark and it worked well.
